2010 ACCYSL College Scholarship Fund

The league is accepting letters of application for its 2010 college scholarship fund. Approximately $4000 is available for players or former players who reside in the cities of Richmond and San Pablo, or elsewhere within the league boundaries. Applicants must have been accepted to the first year of an accredited four-year college, be able to attest to financial need, and have displayed a high level of commitment to youth soccer through ACCYSL teams.

Awards are intended to meet the gap between financial aid and total college-related expenses, especially in cases where extra money will make a difference between being able to attend college or not. Preference will be given to players who represent the first generation of their families to go to college.

Award decisions will be made in September by a three-person committee appointed by the ACCYSL president. The committee will attempt to maximize the impact of the funds, either giving it all to a single player or to several players depending on circumstances.

To apply for an award, players or former players need to submit a brief (one-page maximum) letter of application outlining his or her ACCYSL affiliation, why he/she needs an award, and what the money would be used for.

Letters should be sent to:
